Crisfield Petition Against Obama's $4 Million Vacation

Posted: Updated:

CRISFIELD, Md. - After being denied FEMA assistance, residents in Crisfield are now setting up a petition.

Volunteers are asking President Obama to give up his vacation to Hawaii and instead "rebuild Somerset County."  In just two days, the petition has collected more than 2,800 signatures.

"[That] $4 million would rebuild Somerset County," said John Phoebus, the creator of the petition. "We had business groups meet and someone said the Federal government wastes everyday as much money as it would take to fix Somerset County."

In just two days, the petition has collected more than 2,800 signatures.  If it reaches 25,000 signatures by January 4th, the President has to respond.

To see the petition, go to the White House Petition website.
