SALISBURY, Md. - Dawn Lisa Morris-Black, 59, of Salisbury, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, December 5th, 2012 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Benjamin White and Jean Webster White. She graduated from James M. Bennett High School in 1971 and worked as a nurse for Peninsula Neurosurgical for 9 years. In addition to working as a nurse for over 41 years caring for others, she also took care of two developmental disabled at her home. She enjoyed working in her yard, going on cruises, many types of music, and the many home businesses she and her husband shared (Interbiz, Pre-Paid Legal & ACN Family).
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Clay Black, Jr.; a son, Christopher William Jenkins and his wife, April of Salisbury; a daughter, Jana Bailey and her husband, Marcus of Delmar; two grandchildren, Noah-James and Marissa-Lee; sister in law, Sharon Dicken of Cumberland; brother in law, Michael Black of Frederick; aunt and uncle, Louise and David Elston of Frederick.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2012 at 11:00am at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with Bishop Richard Lawson, Rev. David Spann and Rev. Julius Zant officiating. There will be a visitation on Monday from 10-11am and also on Sunday from 3-5pm. The family requests that contributions be made in her memory to New Life Apostolic Church, 31193 Mt.
