CAMDEN, Del. - A driver has been cited after allegedly hitting a crossing guard with his truck. According to Camden Police, David Dunningham, 44, of Camden, was driving his pick-up truck on Old North Road, coming up to the West driveway of Caesar Rodney High School on Monday around 7:50 AM.
They say that a 53-year-old male crossing guard was standing on Old North Road at the west driveway directing traffic, wearing a reflective vest and holding a stop sign in his hand. Dunningham apparently didn't see the victim in the road, and hit him with his truck.
The victim was taken to Kent General Hospital, where he was treated for contusions and abrasions to his left knee and left hip and released. Dunningham was given a ticket for careless driving.
