Posted: Updated:

MILTON, Del. - The Delaware State Police are investigating a reported Milton home invasion that, sent one man to the hospital with a gunshot wound. They say that the incident occurred on Apollo Lane, near Milton, a little before 6:40 PM Sunday evening.

According to police, three masked men, one armed with a handgun, forced their way into the residence located in the Cave Colony Development. One of the male suspects reportedly pointed a handgun at the 33-year-old male resident, and fired a single round, grazing him across the top of his head.

Police say that the suspects then tied the hands of the victims, including a 35-year-old female and a 14-year-old male, and demanded cash and jewelry. The victims apparently turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, but no jewelry was taken. The three suspects then reportedly fled the home, on foot, in an unknown direction.

The 33-year-old victim was transported to Beebe Medical Center where he was treated for the non-life-threatening gun shot to his head. The 35-year-old female and teenage boy were not injured in the incident.

Police are asking anyone with information about the invasion, to contact DSP at 302-856-5850 ext. 210, or Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333. Information may also be provided via the internet at www.tipsubmit.com
