Baltimore 2-Year-Old Dead, Mother's Throat Cut

BALTIMORE (AP) - Baltimore police say a 2-year-old boy was found dead and his mother was found with her throat cut.
    
Police say the woman is a "person of interest" in the death of her son on Sunday, but would not provide further details about what led to the child's death.
    
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the 32-year-old mother was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and was undergoing emergency surgery Sunday afternoon. The police spokesman says the toddler suffered a severe laceration and his body has been taken to the state medical examiner's office for an autopsy.
    
Guglielmi says other members of the household were being interviewed to determine what happened, but investigators believe the incident was an isolated, domestic tragedy.
