Ford Issues Recall for Fusion, Escape

DETROIT -- Ford is issuing  a voluntary recall for 90,000 vehicles because of a fire risk.

It affects only the 2013 Ford Escapes and Ford Fusions with 1.6 liter EcoBoost engines.  There have been 13 reported fires among the models.

The issue does not impact Fusion and Escape models with different engines.

Ford says it's working on a fix, and is asking owners to call their dealers to arrange for a loaner car until the problem is solved.
