BALTIMORE (AP) - A suspect is in custody after a football player was shot on the campus of Morgan State University in Baltimore.
Police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi says the shooting happened around 1 p.m. Friday near a residence hall. A spokesman for the university identified the victim of the shooting as a football player, and police say his injuries are not life-threatening.
Police also recovered a weapon.
A shooting at the campus' student center in September also injured one person. The victim was not a Morgan State student, and authorities said at the time that the shooting was "not random." A suspect was later arrested.
The school, a historically black university, has an enrollment of approximately 6,000.
