FELTON, Del. -- In just his first year as Marching Band director at Lake Forest High School in Felton, David Durham has already brought his group to victory. That is why WMDT and Accurate Optical honored him for being a teacher who makes a difference.
Durham brought the group to victory. They were undefeated this year, winning the regional championship. It was the school's first win in 19 years. But for Freshman Christopher Amdreux, Mr. Durham was a mentor making his first year at a new school that much easier.
"Somebody that helped me understand that it's my first year but it doesn't mean I can't do great things," Christopher tells us.
"It's not about the teacher it's not about the whole reward system I feel like it's about what they get out of it and showing them that hard work makes a difference," Durham says.
