Delaware Official Mark World AIDS Day

Posted: Updated:

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) - Gov. Jack Markell is joining other Delaware officials in celebrating World AIDS Day.

Markell was to join Wilmington Mayor James Baker, public health director Dr. Karyl Rattay and representatives from the Delaware HIV Consortium on Friday to promote free HIV testing.

The event takes place at the Walgreens store on North Market St. in Wilmington.

World AIDS Day is held each Dec. 1 as an opportunity for people to show their support for people living with HIV and to commemorate people who have died from AIDS.
