"The Town Of Heron Ponds" Coming Soon To Delmar

Posted: Updated:

DELMAR, Md. - A big announcement for the town of Delmar about Heron Ponds Amphitheater.

Officials tell WMDT that the first phase of the project has been approved. That means the town of Delmar could soon see that empty field transformed into a 6,000 seat theater. Not to mention, there are plans to build more single family homes, active adult housing, soccer and softball fields, office building and a restaurant. If you're concerned about noise, officials say they've got that covered too.

"There's 110 acres here. The active adult area will be at the East end, thousands of feet away from this [the theater]. The burm tent structure will control the sound so these people will have very pleasant ambient sound during concerts," said Doug Marshall, Founder of Heron Ponds.

Marshall says he will present the preliminary phase of the project to the council in a couple weeks in December. Then in January, there will be public comment, before the final phase is approved.
