RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Funding is being made available for local governments in Virginia to support agriculture- and forestry-based industries.

The $250,000 in matching funds is aimed improving local economic development efforts relating to agribusiness.
Additional funding of $750,000 also will help assist local efforts in expanding current or attracting new agriculture and forestry processing facilities using Virginia-grown products.
The application deadline for the initial round of the grants is March 1 with award announcements expected to be made in April.
