Police Explosives Unit Trains In Bethany Beach

Posted: Updated:

BETHANY BEACH, Del. (AP) - Delaware State Police are telling residents of the Bethany Beach area not to be alarmed if they hear some unusual noises over the next two days.

The DSP' Explosive Ordnance Disposal Team is conducting what it officials describe as High Energy Dynamic Entry Training at the Delaware National Guard Training Facility located in Bethany Beach.

The training exercises start Wednesday morning and will involve small amounts of various types of explosives. Officials say area residents may hear loud pops or bangs during the training, but that the blasts are controlled and pose no danger to the public or surrounding properties.
