DEF Gets Final Portion Of $175,000 Donation

DELMARVA - A local foundation has received the final portion of a large donation. The Delmarva Education Foundation was given the final check, written for $18,895.38.

The check is the last bit of a donation of $175,000 to the Foundation from Dr. Donald Harting, the organization's founder. Dr. Harting passed away in 2011. The DEF helps students in Worcester, Wicomico, and Somerset counties find money to further their educations.

The picture to the right shows Kat Harting (left), Delmarva Education Foundation board member, presents a check for $18,895.38 to Mike Pennington, president of the Delmarva Education Foundation board of directors, on November 15th.
