Hector Aaron Torres
OCEAN CITY, Md. - An anonymous tip, leads police to catch an alleged armed robber, in the act. Ocean City Police say that they received information that Hector Torres, 25, of Ocean City, was planning to rob the O.C. Dollar Store on Philadelphia Avenue on Monday.
Based on the information, officers removed the employees from the store, put officers in place, and started surveillance. Torres, reportedly walked into the store around 8:20 PM, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, with the hood up, hiding his face. Police say that Torres was armed with a razor knife in one hand and a kitchen knife in the other.
According to the report, Torres walked the isles of the store looking for an employee, but was instead met my officers who attempted to arrest him. They say that Torres tried to run, and they gave him orders to stop, which he reportedly disobeyed, causing officers to subdue him with a Taser.
He was taken into custody, and charged with a slew of offences, including felony armed robbery, felony robbery, possession of a deadly weapon with intent to injure, and resisting arrest. Torres is being held on $250,000 bond.
