Joseph Thomas Middleton, Sr., 83, of Salisbury, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at his residence after a long illness. Born in Pittsville, he was the son of the late Benjamin Houston Middleton and Maude Rogers Middleton. He was a US Navy veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Delmarva Power and Light for 47 years.
He was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and Bethesda Methodist Men for over 60 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Nancy Lee Duffy Middleton; two sons, Joseph Thomas Middleton, Jr. of Salisbury and Mark Duffy Middleton and his wife, Kimberly of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Alex Joseph Middleton and William Thomas Middleton; a brother, James Robert Middleton of Pittsville; and cousins, William Thomas Middleton and his wife, Katherine of Salisbury and Ellen Scott of Pittsville.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Bethesda United Methodist Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. There will also be a visitation on Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Holloway Funeral Home. Interment following the funeral service will be held at Parsons Cemetery in Salisbury with Rev.
