GOOD MORNING DELMARVA - The Harrington Little Spartans Junior Pee-Wee cheerleading squad has qualified to go to Nationals in Orlando Florida.
The cheer program with Harrington Pop Warner is under the direction of Crystal Hughes (VP Cheer). These girls age 8-11 years old have worked as a team since August 1st, 2012 to compete for this chance to make it to Nationals.
The team is led by their coaches Tanya Jester and June Lewis. They also have Shelby Shelton and Taylor Hanes as student demonstrators. These girls have come together, and really shown what being a Spartan is all about. They practice 6 hours a week on their routine and also cheer at football games on Saturdays.
In the 9 years of Pop Warner Little Scholars in Harrington we have always tried to get a team to go to Nationals. Well this is the year that we finally broke through. The girls started their journey at the Henlopen competition and advanced from there to the sectionals that were held at Temple University. At Temple they also advanced to the Eastern Regional competition held this past weekend in Trenton New Jersey. The girls represented themselves and the community in fine fashion, where they showcased their talent and were selected to the National Competition in Florida.
Anyone that would like to contribute to the girls trip would be greatly appreciated.
Hopefully with the communities help and the fundraising efforts the girls have made we will be able to make this dream come true. Anyone wishing to contribute can contact Dale Webb at 302-359-6124 or Crystal Hughes at 302-233-8271 or Bill Falasco at 398-7975.
