MILFORD, Del. - Milford police arrested 47 year old Scott Stapleford of Lincoln after a parking lot brawl.
Police responded to the parking lot complex of the Delaware Fitness
Center and Pelican Bar located in the 200 block of NE Front St on November 18th. Upon arrival, they
observed two male subjects fighting. The officers gave verbal commands in which Stapleford refused to comply with. He was then subdued after being tasered.
Investigation at the scene revealed that Stapleford had been in
a verbal and physical altercation with another male subject that had stemmed
from the same man throwing another male through a glass window
of the Delaware Fitness Center.
It was
revealed that all subjects had exited the Pelican Bar just before the
altercation took place outside in the parking lot. Both men received
medical treatment for injuries they sustained during the altercation and were
later released. Stapleford was not injured.
He was charged with Disorderly
Conduct, Criminal Mischief and Resisting Arrest. The incident is still
under investigation.
