WICOMICO COUNTY, Md. - We're learning more details about the Environmental Protection Agency's efforts in combating the tainted water in the Fruitland area.
The warning still stands, but the EPA now says the effected areas are east of Fruitland and South of Salisbury. So far, they say they've provided alternative water to 25 homes in the area. They tell WMDT they are transitioning to carbon filtration units.
The investigation is ongoing. Officials say clean-up could take a year or more to complete.
