Michael G. Cairo
GREENWOOD, Del. - Another meth lab has been found in Kent County, and It's the 11th one in that county alone in just the past 4 months! 35-year-old Michael Cairo was arrested at his home Tuesday, shocking his Greenwood neighborhood.
"I spoke to him when I'd go by I'd wave to him he seemed like real nice boy these other people move in with him and I don't know them," a neighbor tells WMDT.
After an investigation police were brought to a home on the 1900 block of Deep Grass Lane where they found Drug Paraphernalia and ingredients to make methamphetamine. What's even more disturbing is that just next door there's a day care that was full of children that needed to be evacuated.
WMDT attempted to speak with the Day Care's owners, they admitted they are scared for their safety.
Delaware State Police say they should be.
"With the highly volatile nature an explosion can occur in the neighborhood and if that occurs these houses are going up rather quickly," Master Corp. Gary Fournier tells us.
Which is why authorities are cracking down on these dangerous operations. You may remember 24-year-old Robert Donavan and Nichole Messick were arrested in Seaford earlier this month for allegedly making meth, and a Felton man was reportedly caught by his own mother doing the same thing.
"There seems to be a connection between these and that's allowing our investigators to proceed forward in getting more information on possible future meth labs," Fournier tells us.
Delaware State police tell us they STRONGLY believe there are more meth labs out there. If you have any information on a possible meth lab...you are urged to call crime stoppers at 1-800-TIPP-33-33.
They also stress that anyone with a tip will remain anonymous.
