Greenwood, Del. -- The Delaware State Police Kent
County Drug Unit have arrested a Greenwood man after a two
month investigation into the manufacturing of Methamphetamine (Meth) in his
house.
On Tuesday authorities responded to the 1900 block of Deep Grass Lane in order to execute a
search warrant at the residence. Upon arrival at the house, Michael Cairo, 35, was taken into custody without incident. Upon conducting a
search of the house, detectives located component mixtures of the manufacturing
stages of Meth along with key ingredients in making the drug as well as other
drug paraphernalia.
Cairo was transported back to Troop 3 in Dover where he was
charged with two counts of Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia. Bond information was not readily available at the time of
this release.
Deep Grass Lane was closed by DelDOT for approximately three
hours as the Meth lab was safely dismantled and removed from the
residence. A neighboring residential daycare was evacuated due to the
volatile and hazardous chemicals involved in the manufacturing stages of the
Meth.
