Father Charged With Attempted Murder Of Son In Princess Anne

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - A Princess Anne father is being accused of attempting to murder his 16-year-old son.

Princess Anne Police say that 52-year-old Gene Ames, and his 16-year-old son were arguing at a Spruce Street home. An investigation shows that Ames stabbed his son in the chest.

Police have charged him with attempted 1st and 2nd degree murder, 1st and 2nd degree assault, reckless endangerment, dangerous weapon with intent to injure, along with 1st degree child abuse. Ames is being held at the Somerset County Detention Center on no bond.
