SALISBURY, Md. - New developments for the proposed Salisbury Skate Park.
The latest suggested location, behind the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center, was turned down when the Salisbury City Council was denied a request to talk over plans with the county by Wicomico County Executive, Rick Pollitt.
Council president Terry Cohen defended the location saying it would not have disrupted neighborhoods or wildlife, and assured it's sustainability.
Cohen stays optimistic and see's this only as a setback, not a definite no, saying "we can get to yes in a way that's sustainable and healthy. because we certainly don't want to open a skate park and have it end the way the last one did which was closed and filled in."
While officials hope to still bring the skate park to reality, they say it'll take a little more research and planning.
