FISHING CREEK, Md. - The cause of a house fire in Dorchester County is still under investigation. The Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office reports the fire started in the kitchen of the Hoopers Island Road home, and was found by a passerby. It reportedly broke out around 4:40 PM on Monday afternoon.
The blaze took 45 firefighters around 20 minutes to control. No one was injured, but damages are estimated at $25,000. The cause is still being looked into, and officials are asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-713-3780.
