Biden Seeks To Add Prosecutors In Wilmington

DOVER, Del. (AP) - Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden is asking for funding to hire more prosecutors to help respond to Wilmington's high crime rate.
    
Biden included the request Monday in the Department of Justice's presentation to state budget officials.
    
Biden asked for $206,400 to add a prosecutor, investigator and paralegal to the New Castle County homicide unit. He also asked for $102,000 for a prosecutors to focus on shootings in Wilmington and $80,500 for a prosecutor to focus on nuisance crimes.
    
Biden is also seeking additional funding for statewide domestic violence shelters and to convert part-time positions to full-time positions.
    
The funding proposal will require approval from lawmakers.
