Organizers Start Set-Up For Caroling On The Circle

Posted: Updated:

GEORGETOWN, Del. - Caroling On The Circle kicks off in Georgetown in just two weeks.

The annual event actually starts December 3rd, but organizers have already started decorating and packing the pod with non-perishable foods today.  Last year alone, they collected more than 29,000 items.

But organizers are hoping to beat that number this year with a goal of 30,000 items.

"We're going to ramp up the efforts," said Frank Shade, co-chair of Caroling On The Circle.  "We're going to call on the community, call on the public to dig a little bit deeper because if we don't take of the people locally that count on us this time of the year that has a good hot meal for Thanksgiving, then we're going to create a bigger problem here."

If you would like to help, you can stop by the Georgetown Circle anytime between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday. The Pod is located next to the Sussex County Courthouse.      The food drive runs until the end of December.
