OCEAN CITY, Md. - Over the weekend, 3,000 middle schoolers took over the Ocean City Convention Center.
It's all for the "Metro Maryland Youth For Christ" youth conference, which focuses on giving young people strength in their faith in a fun atmosphere. Youth For Christ officials said this focus on middle schoolers is more important than ever: many of the problems that were formerly high school problems are now prominent in every middle school across the country. This weekend's theme was "heroes."
"Everybody wants to have a hero, everybody wants a hero to come and rescue them," said Bob Arnold, executive director, MMYFC. "Really, all of us in our lives, no matter what we do, whether it's big or small, are called to be heroes with our life and make a difference."
In March, Impact Alive will be back in Ocean City: this time, focusing on high school students. Their theme "Beneath The Surface."
