WASHINGTON (AP) - President Obama has declared a disaster for Delaware after Superstorm Sandy.
FEMA said Friday that federal disaster aid is available in all three counties to supplement recovery efforts affected by Sandy from Oct. 27 to Nov. 8.
The declaration makes federal funding available to state and some local governments and some private, nonprofit organizations. The funding is available on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities.
Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation.
