SU Turkey Trot Raises $1,000 For "Toys For Tots"

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - With a week away until Thanksgiving, Salisbury University students are getting into the holiday spirit by trotting for turkeys.

Around 250 SU students and staff ran around the campus to try to win a frozen turkey.    All entry fees and toys brought today went towards "Toys For Tots."  We caught up with one of the winners, who also won last year for the male staff member division.

"It feels great," said Sam Gibson, a Salisbury University staff member. "I usually like to try to come out and win every year for the Staff Division, so it's always my goal to come out and try to be the first male staff member."

Officials also tell us that for the 3rd year in-a-row, the run raised $1,000 in addition to the toys brought by runners.
