SALISBURY, Md. - Margaret Sjolander Stewart, 97, of Salisbury, passed away on Monday, November 12, 2012 at her residence. Born in Paulsboro, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Ragnar Sjolander and Ida Kelly Sjolander. She was a charter member of Sister Mary Claire Guild of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, a life member of the Junior Board Auxiliary at Peninsula Regional Medical Center since 1958 with over 4,000 volunteer hours, a member of the Wicomico Historical Society, past president of the Wicomico Woman's Club and past president of the Eastern Shore District Woman's Club. She graduated from Seaton Catholic High School in Baltimore and in 1952 moved with her late husband to Salisbury because of his job with Victor Lynn Lines.

She is survived by 6 children, Margaret Ann Hasenei of Seaford, Kristina Stewart Garrick and her husband, Michael of Orange Park, FL, Jeanne Stewart Underwood and her husband, David of Salisbury, Joanne Stewart Hall and her husband, Andy of Salisbury, Hope Stewart Murphy and her husband, John of Newcomb, MD and James Marshall Stewart and his wife, Barbara of Salisbury; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Marshall Stewart in 1977; 4 brothers, Ragnar, Edward, Wilbur and James Sjolander; a sister, Emily Sjolander; and a son in law, Duane A. Hasenei.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11:00am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury. The family requests contributions can be made in her memory to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 535 Riverside Drive, Salisbury, MD 21801 and or Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, PA, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804.
