OCEAN CITY, Md. - The Waterman's Seafood Restaurant is now patching things up after a massive fire shut them down back in October.
They've boarded up some of the damaged areas and the restaurant is currently closed for business. The fire originated in a second floor attic area, reportedly caused by a faulty electrical circuit.
The Ocean City Volunteer Fire Company, assisted by the Berlin, Showell, Ocean Pines and Bishopville Volunteer Fire Companies, responded shortly after 6:45PM on the night of October 5. Firefighters remained on the scene for approximately 4 hours suppressing the fire and conducting overhaul operations. Ocean Gateway, in the area of the fire, was shut down in both the east and west bound directions for several hours to set up a water supply. The restaurant was occupied at the time the fire was discovered. All occupants were able to exit the building prior to the arrival of the fire service with no injuries reported.
We reached out to Waterman's to see exactly where they are in their rebuilding process, but we're still waiting on a call back.
