Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookie Recall

Posted: Updated:

WMDT 47 NEWS - A company is recalling its sandwich cookies because of an undisclosed allergen.

Giant Food says that Frito-Lay has taken its Grandma's Peanut Butter Sandwich Crème Cookies off its shelves, because two ingredients, milk and egg, were not listed on the ingredient label. The product is safe for consumption by people who don't have milk or egg allergy or sensitivity, but have been pulled for re-labeling.

The following product is included in this recall:
GRANDMA'S Peanut Butter Sandwich Crème cookies, UPC 2840000153, 3.025 oz., with a sell-by date of May 21, 2013 or earlier

Customers who bought the product should throw away any unused product, and bring the original purchase receipt to Giant for a full refund. No illnesses have been reported because of the mislabeling, but those with allergies could have a severe reaction to the product.

Consumers looking for additional information on the recall may call Frito-Lay consumer relations at (877) 650-3479. In addition customers may call Giant Customer Service at (888) 469-4426 for more information. Customers can also visit the Giant website at Giant's website, or the FDA's website.
