PJ Aldridge Foundation Works To Cure Lung Cancer

Posted: Updated:

WEST OCEAN CITY, Md. - November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month and a local organization is doing all they can to raise awareness.

It's the PJ Aldridge Foundation, which started in 2010 after PJ Aldridge was diagnosed with lung cancer and doctors told him he had three months to live.  The organization is hosting an 3-mile awareness walk on Sunday at Salisbury University.

For PJ and his foundation, it's all about getting the word out.

PJ Aldridge tells us that he hope that "nobody else will have to go through what I've been through, you know that's my goal."

"We're really pushing the meaning of this month and hopefully we are raising some funds that way we can donate it back to research," said Jordan Calloway, Marketing Director for PJAF.

Also, PJ's Christmas Giveaway is raffling off a brand-new Volkswagen Beatle, UGGS, a Coach Bag and more.  Tickets are $20 a piece or six for $100.  Prizes will be announced on December 20th and all proceeds will be donated to research.  For more information on the raffle and the walk, head over to their foundation's website at www.pjaf.org.
