Cambridge Fire Causes $110,000 In Damages

CAMBRIDGE, Md. - A Sunday early morning fire is under investigation in Cambridge. Officials with the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office say that the fire started around 3:54 AM, in the two story Washington Street business, Jeni's Odds & Ends.

A Cambridge Police officer discovered the fire during their routine patrol. It took 50 firefighters around an hour to control the two alarm blaze. Officials say that there were smoke alarms, but its unknown if they were working at the time of the fire. One firefighter fell through the second floor, but only sustained minor injuries.

The damages are estimated at $110,000. The Fire Marshal says the fire is still under investigation, and they are asking anyone with information to contact them at 410-713-3780.
