SALISBURY, Md. - It's been more than a week since Hurricane Sandy and areas here on the Shore, ravaged by this super storm, still need help with food and supplies.
The Maryland Food Bank is now helping the Red Cross.
We're told they took a trailer load of food down to displaced residents in Crisfield.
But since they sent nearly 40,000 pounds of food down, they admit they are now enlisting the help of local students to help bring more food in to prepare for the busy holiday season.
"40,000 pounds is a lot of food and so as soon as it goes out, we need to be replenishing and thinking out ways to bring it back in," said Yvonne Terry, Director of Development. "One of those ways that we're doing that now is through out "Kids Helping Kids Food Drive.'"
With the holidays coming up, we are told that the Food Bank is also helping other organizations set up food drives across the shore.
