Delmarva Power Extends Energy-Saving Trees Program

Posted: Updated:

DELMARVA - Delmarva Power has extended the sign- up period for customers who would like to receive free trees through their "Energy-Saving Trees program."

There are approximately 1,800 trees remaining to be given away. You can reserve up to two, starting today. An online tool will tell you the best place to plant the tree.

This is not only good for the environment, but your wallet too. "With the strategic planting of trees in the right location at your home or business, it can help provide the necessary cover in terms of shade during hot weather, or cover from the wind during extremely cold weather. The scientists say that within 20 years, these 3,000 matured trees will save about $500,000 energy savings," Delmarva Power spokesperson Matt Likovich said.

To your reserve trees, go to www.delmarva.com. You'll need your Delmarva Power customer number handy to sign-up.
