Robert Donavan
Nichole Messick
SEAFORD, Del. - Police arrested two people after they were allegedly making methamphetamine in their Seaford home. On Wednesday, after a several months long investigation the Delaware State Police Sussex County Drug Unit, along with the Sussex County Governor's Task Force, and DNREC, searched a home on Walker Road in Up Country Mobile Home Park.
At the home, police arrested 24-year-old Robert Donavan, and 21-year-old Nichole Messick, who each reportedly had .01 gram of meth on them. During the search officials say they found component mixtures of the manufacturing stages of the drug along with key ingredients for making it. They also reportedly removed a switchblade knife, ammunition, and other drug paraphernalia. The couple's one-year-old son, who was also at the home, was turned over to a neighbor until relatives could take him.
Donavan and Messick were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, endangering the welfare of a child, 2nd degree conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Donavan was additionally charged with possession of ammunition by person prohibited, and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. He is being held at Sussex Correction Institution on $75,000 bond. Messick is being held at Baylor Women's Correctional Institution on $15,000 bond.
Walker Road was closed for around six hours, while officials dismantled and removed the meth lab from the home, safely.
