Man Accused Of Destroying And Stealing His Ex's Property

Posted: Updated:

SALISBURY, Md. - A Salisbury man was arrested after allegedly breaking a window and destroying property at his ex-girlfriend's home.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office say they were investigating a broken window at a Booth Street home, which lead them to Michael Johnson, the homeowners ex-boyfriend, as the suspect.

A few hours later, the homeowner called the Sheriff's Office again, saying that Johnson had returned and destroyed a flat screen TV, stabbed her mattress with a knife, flipped over her coffee table, stole alcohol, and cooked one of her frozen pizzas.

While deputies were on scene for the second time, another deputy in the area found Johnson, nearby on East Road. They say that he was resisting arrest, until a second deputy was able to assist, and get him into a patrol car.

Deputies say that while they were driving, Johnson started spitting on them, and banging his head against the prisoner cage. Officials say that he was visibly under the influence of alcohol.

Johnson was charged with malicious destruction of property, theft, resisting arrest, and assault, and is being held at the Detention Center on $300,000 bond.
