WMDT 47 NEWS - A local electrical cooperation is asking members to beat the peak on Wednesday afternoon.
With cooler than usual temperatures, Choptank Electric officials are advising customers to wait to use unnecessary lights and larger appliances from 6:00 - 8:00 PM.They say that home heating equipment uses a lot of electricity, so they are asking that members turn down thermostats 3 degrees, and delay the use of other appliances like washing machines and dishwashers.
These small adjustments can save big money, by using less energy and resources. This not only helps the environment, but also helps avoid high energy costs.
