Worcester Co. Well Water Boil Advisory

Posted: Updated:

WORCESTER CO., Md. - A Local health department is urging residents to boil their well water. Worcester County Health Department says that residents who's wells were flooded during Sandy, should be boiling their water for three minutes before using it, or use bottled water.

Prior to boiling tap water, the well should be run (2 hours for every 100 feet of well depth for a four-inch well) to remove as much of the contaminated water from the well as possible.

Contaminated wells need to be disinfected. Questions about contaminated wells and well safety should be directed to the Health Department. The Environmental Programs Department will be available for testing at 410-632-1220.
