Flooding in Milton
DELAWARE - DelDOT crews are working around the clock to clean up Sandy's mess. Crews are clearing out drains, getting rid of fallen branches and trees from the roads, examining possible road erosion, and inspecting bridge conditions. Officials say that 95% of roads in Delaware are operational.
Route 1 is closed on both the North and South side of the Indian River Inlet Bridge because of sand on the roadway. Crews are removing the sand, and then the roadway will be inspected.
DelDOT also says that service has been restored to every traffic signal in the state, except for the intersection of SR 54 and Lincoln Drove in the Cape Windsor Community, and the intersection of SR 1 and Fred Hudson Road. The control cabinets for these signals were underwater and need to be replaced.
