OCEAN CITY, Md. - Dozens were out and about Tuesday in Ocean City. All day Monday, rumors flooded social media sites.

So, people told WMDT they had to see it with their own eyes. A lot of folks say they didn't think it would be this bad. Residents expected beach erosion but, just how severe it was surprised many.

"I can def tell the waves were on the boardwalk, I can't believe the amount of sand on the boardwalk," said Rachel Rappe, an OC resident.

WMDT even ran into the owner of the Marina Deck on Dorchester Street, who sent a picture of his boardwalk business.

"We ended up getting high tide during the day Monday, and high tides never got high enough than that, but there was a foot in my restaurant," said Dennis Kalchthaler.

"I was worried but after I was happy it was over," said his son Ethan.

All areas are open for travel, but the inlet is still closed.
