MARYLAND - The State Highway Administration has removed the temporary speed limit reduction that they put in place on Monday. They are still encouraging drivers to drive at appropriate speeds for the weather.
Drivers should also note the new law that says when a traffic light is out, treat the intersection as a 4-way-stop. SHA says that across the state there are about 100 roads that are temporarily closed, because is high water or debris.
There is one long-term closure that Worcester County drivers should know about, MD 346, or Old Ocean City Road, over Long Ridge Branch in Whaleyville. A portion of the road was washed out, and is now closed at Hall Road to the East, MD 610, or Whaleyville Road to the West and Sheppards Crossing Road West of the structure. Officials say that alternate route should be used, line Hall Road, US 50, or Ocean Gateway, and MD 610.
SHA also said that nearly 22 inches of snow has fallen in Western Maryland, so if you are headed that way, be advised.
