Students Camped Out Monday Night
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Officials at the University of Maryland Shore met Tuesday morning to discuss the current situation at the school. They say aside from two older trees that toppled, they sustained no major structural damage.
Public Relations Director Bill Robinson says, "The south branch of the Manokin that runs along our south side of campus swelled past its banks and caused some minor flooding at the edge of campus, but everyone here is safe."
Officials say all 700 students who spent the night at the Student Services Center overnight have left. Those who went back to the privately developed apartments are without power. The University is putting a contingency plan into place to off off-campus students the option of coming back to the Student Services Center. However officials say that decision won't be made until mid-afternoon.
UMES officials say they will resume a normal class and business schedule Wednesday.
