SALISBURY, Md. - Dozens of flights have been canceled because of Sandy. US Airways suspended all its flights both in and out of the Wicomico County Airport in Salisbury on Monday.
They are hoping to operate a partial schedule Tuesday morning starting with an 11:50 departure to Charlotte. Before that, officials tell us crews will be out at 4:30 AM to perform inspections.
"You know, this storm is so big, and it's impacted the most congested air space in the United States - from Washington D.C. All the way up to Boston. You know, over 6,000 flights have been canceled. It's going to take days to accommodate everybody," airport manager Robert Bryant said.
The airport says anyone scheduled to fly out of Salisbury on Tuesday should call U.S. Airways directly.
