MARYLAND - With the heavy rains and high winds officials have lowered speed limits across Maryland.
The Maryland State Highway Administration, State Police, and Transportation Authority have lowered all speed limits on interstate and US routes to 45 miles per hour, effective immediately.
The agencies are encouraging people to stay home, but if you must travel, obey the lower speed limits for safety reasons. Staying off the roads also helps emergency responders do their job better, and safer.
For more information about Sandy, view the Maryland Emergency Management Agency website. For the most up to date highway traffic information, call 511 or 1-855-GOMD511 or visit MD511's website and Maryland's Traffic website.
