Tolls On Northbound Route-1 Waived Indefinitely

DELAWARE - Since noon on Sunday, tolls on northbound Route-1 are being waived indefinitely.  

Vehicles are being directed onto the E-Z-pass lanes. The Delaware Department of Transportation is urging all drivers to be patient and courteous of other drivers and avoid causing any accidents.

"We're trying to get - tell people, evacuate and move out of the area as safely and as efficiently as possible. We're expecting a lot of traffic heading north, because we've been getting the word out to everyone that we need to evacuate and fortunately a lot of people are getting out. So hopefully we can get as many people as we can out before the brunt of the storm hits," spokesperson Jim Westhoff said.
