SUSSEX CO., Del. - Sections of State Road 1, and parts of the Indian River Inlet Bridge, are now under water.

DelDOT officials tell us that earlier this morning the ocean broke through the dunes, covering a 7 mile section of the highway, 2 to 3 feet in some areas.

We're told the water is considering high enough to be a danger to motorists. If you see standing water on the roadway, DelDOT officials say it can be deeper than you think.  If you drive through it there is a good chance the vehicle will stall and if it is deep enough and there is a current, your car can even be carried away.

State Road 1 will stay closed until after Sandy passes.
