Guide Aims To Promote Export Of Services From VA

Posted: Updated:

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Virginia economic development officials are releasing a guide to promote the export of services from companies around the state.

The guide is from the Virginia Economic Development Partnership's International Trade division. It outlines export processes, checkpoints and resources.

The guide includes information on assessing whether a company is ready to export, regulations, selecting an international market, work permits and certifications, as well as financing.

Economic development officials say Virginia's service sector is vital to the state economy. The guide is aimed at helping service companies grow sales through exports and, in turn, add high-paying jobs in Virginia.

The state services industry includes computer and information services, management and consulting, architecture and engineering, accounting, as well as research and development.
