DOVER, Del. - Police have made an arrest in connection with the attempted robbery of a Dover food mart. The Delaware State Police's investigation into the incident lead to the arrest of David Penn, 29, of Felton.

Police say that on Monday afternoon, around 2:30 PM, Penn walked into the Mike's Food Mart on South Governors Avenue, armed with a handgun, and demanded money. The clerk reportedly put up a fight, during which Penn allegedly hit the clerk in the head with the gun. Penn fled on foot towards Webbs Lane, before getting any money, according to police.

Penn was charged with 1st degree attempted robbery, and is being held at JTVCC on $25,000 bond.
