PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Students, staff, and faculty painted the campus pink at UMES, Thursday.
They had everything from wigs, to clothing, to banners. They're finishing up an entire week of events too. Many of them walking in the name of victims or survivors who had breast cancer. Officials say it's important to keep students abreast on what's happening, and how they can help those fighting this disease.
"This environment is not only about augmenting what students learn in the classroom, but making sure they're culturally aware of everything that goes on outside the realms of college," said Rhett Burden, Residential Hall Director.
On Friday, they're collecting donations. All the proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen foundation in Maryland. Then on Saturday they're having a Powderpuff game at 7:30 at the UT field in Princess Anne.
